What if it's all fake, and they're all actors, and its all done for television?

Just look at all the hypnotic techniques used in the filming - shaky cameras, blurry scenes, dark backgrounds, bright white blinding backgrounds, etc.

I used to like Derren Brown. 15 years ago or so, when he first started he used to swear that he didnt use magic or camera tricks. But i quickly realised that he did; he had the gift-of-the-gab, and he covered it all with clever sounding prose.
when it comes down to it, he is just a magician, nothing more.

Once he explains at the end, the chess part wasn't very magical, but the magical number where he only missed one at the end was... since he could have multiple of the same number and he was really only playing one chess game...
from personal experience there's only one explanation for that one...
Its just one of infinite possible twists on a common alien parlour trick...
