You're not paying for anything. Those days ended decades and decades ago. The government borrows the money and uses us all as collateral to do it. Our taxes can't even pay the interest on the money our government borrows from the Federal Reserve. 17 TRILLION we owe the Federal Reserve and countries like Saudi Arabia and China. It's got nothing to do with food stamps. This debt can never be paid. Government... A more immediate result of these operations will be the increased use of military forces, weaponry, and equipment such as tanks and armored personnel carriers in civilian law enforcement, the suspension or elimination of Habeas Corpus, the elimination of jury trials, the attempted disarming of the American People, and the institution of martial law with show-trials conducted by a tribunal of judges. - William Cooper 1997 (RIP) "If it's TRUE, it cannot be a THEORY!" -- Kentroversy (02/23/07) The light is always stronger than the darkness. Just get rid of the fraud and have an industrial manufacturing base and even the conservatards for the most part wouldn't be bothered with it. No, it couldn't. Not in the USA, anyway. Not anywhere people would want to live or anything they'd want to drive. Especially based on averages for Home and Auto prices. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 45485322 United States 06/13/2014 02:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Unfortunately, I live 1/2 mile from Walmart. There aren't any other stores within several miles so I do have to stop in there every now and again to get milk or eggs. It seems each time I'm in there, there are people in line in front of me using their EBT cards. Even when you can't see the cards, you know they are using them because there is always a cash balance at the end for the things the cards won't purchase. Well, the ladies in front of me yesterday just about had me saying something to them. The grandma couldn't have been much over 30 (they were white). The daughter was mid teens and there was a very young baby as well. Their cart contained what I figured was probably a week's worth of food: two large loaves of cheap white bread and one loaf of garlic bread - the nasty pre-buttered kind, a large pack of bologna, a large box of Velveeta, a case of store brand cola, spaghetti and sauce, a large bag of russet potatoes and a bag of chips. There was not one vegetable in there. You know they were eating bologna and cheese sandwiches all week, washed down with a cola. OMG! Both women were puffy fat. You know, the kind which jiggles and muffin tops hang out above the pants even though they weren't terribly overweight. There are healthy big girls - such as Serena Williams - and there are the puffy kind due to bad diets and lack of exercise. Man, those women are going to kill themselves by the time they are fifty if they eat like that all the time. |

My husband works full time, and I have a 7 month old and 4 year old at home, and I'm not working just to pay for daycare and gas. I didn't want food stamps, but my husband said it would help us at this time; things are getting very rough out there. We pay taxes, isn't that what this is for? Things will change, but for the moment, we will use this help. Moran for life <3 |
