I'm 24 Years old, can confirm that my generation sucks.

They are all in their upper seventies and eighties now and are angry, judgmental, and refuse to accept ANY culpability for their failures.

That generation had ZERO respect for this great planet, they taught their kids to throw trash out car windows as they blazed 70 mph on the highways, they did not get involved in activist causes, they did nothing particularly worthwhile for this world - but THEY had the white-picket American dream, job security, Ward & June Cleaver lives. And as they've aged, they have done NOTHING but piss on everyone younger.

When i was growing up, in my home and family members homes... if you were speaking to an adult and used any of those: "uh...yeah, like, um" the adult would repeat just that word the second after you said it while you were still speaking.(Example: 'So i was like (*LIKE*)stop..') haha most annoying thing EVER but i learned very quickly how to speak to my elders properly. Or when someone would swear...even an adult, the elders would say 'Using swear words shows a lack of intelligence and an inability to use the correct word.... Grab a dictionary." lol

I'm in my twenties and I can confirm that this generation is pretty messed up. However, this didn't just happen overnight. What we're seeing is the result of a slow, residual process. It's happened over multiple generations. And until something is done, it's going to keep happening.

At times, when I'm not angry over what I see with people my age, I feel quite badly for them. Terrible parents, indoctrination from birth, multiple medications, etc. It's a wonder people can still even function with all the crossed signals our brains are receiving.

But, instead of complaining about it and calling our generation garbage, maybe do something to help? Teach a young person your perspective and experience. Show them how to throw a ball, plant things, fish or shoot a gun.

One thing I absolutely hate is having older people look down on me because I'm younger. I can see the ones who do this. I can tell they see me as some young punk, just because I'm young. For no other reason. They don't know me. I've been "profiled" many times because I'm part of this generation.

Until people start actively taking a hand in matters, nothing will change. Try helping some of the younger people you know. Teach them old ways. Or, you can sit there, complain, just blame us and call us crap. Do what you want.

I have three children of my own in that age group. 2 are doing fine. One is struggling. Even the one that is struggling has redeeming qualities.

This individual has said it correctly. Take note and lend your experience to someone whom needs it. Good ethics and morals are taught.

Also I do believe it's tragic that society has taken to those cell phones so much, the younger generations seem to live, eat and breathe their phones. It's disgraceful as these phones are taking away their abilities to communicate with others and be aware of their surroundings, also dangerous in causing mva accidents and assaults against women are unaware of what is happening around them and texting...

I am 25 and worked for everything I have, college degree, full time job, family of four, and only have 9 yrs left on my mortgage because I save more than I spend.

I agree with you that many twenty somethings are disrespectful. However, please don't lump us all into one catergory. I'm 27, and feel like an alien compared to my peers. I find many of them to be lazy, ungrateful, and defiant to authority. I guess they would consider me an oldschool. I work hard, have traditional family values, say yes maam and no maam, use common courtesies, only buy things I can afford, etc. The point is, we are not all that way.

Boomers are the only generation to place their needs before anyone else. Within a few decades they racked up enormous debt and left the country in an economic hole while still sucking up valuable resources that have now caused a worldwide scarcity which in turn has hiked up the prices of every necessity out there. And they expect some respect and thanks for handing down sky-high gas prices and electing corrupt officials that have murdered the American Dream. Gee, thanks Boomers.
