No, lobbyists influence politicians on behalf of a third party. Celebrities influence sheep on behalf of politicians. It is in a politicians best interests to curry favor with those who have a wide sphere of influence because that in turn becomes votes.

A lot of Hollywood actors stopped going to the Whitehouse correspondents dinner because the geezers were getting too touchy/frisky. I shudder to think what kind of drug induced freakishness followed that tour. I'm sure it wasn't worth it.
