Doctor needed my email address because of Obama Care

I don't think there is any harm in you giving them your email. My problem with doctors is when they ask you if you're depressed. If you answer yes they can us this against you later on. For example you could lose your 2A rights or custody of your kids.
Obama care is just another invasion of your privacy.

Not everyone has email. Easy solution, tell them you don't have one when they ask. Geesh.

I agree completely. I mean they have all my personal information, being my doctors office. I imagine even my email address somewhere. I didn't sign anything, so I see no harm.

I wouldn't answer yes to questions regarding depression etc.

I would have said that if I was really bothered by it. I wasn't really overly concerned. Just found it odd that Obama Care would be involved in my health care since I am not enrolled. Other insurances that I don't have don't ask for any info about me.

I tell telemarketers from AT&T that I don't have a phone.

I also have more than one email address so that helps.

If they ask what you are speaking on, tell them it's a walkie-talkie, and ask what their rates are for that :)

I was going to say, " drats, foiled again", and hang up.

Or you can tell them it is a megaphone and ask them.

Sometimes when a telemarketer calls and asks for the owner, or even by my name, I say no sorry, he's currently in jail for shooting a telemarketer.

I couldn't believe some of the questions I was asked at my kid's last pediatrician appointment. Like...Are there any guns in our home? Do you smoke? How many alcoholic beverages do you consume in a week? WTF?

I got a call at work years ago. I had won a trip. I knew the catch would involve a credit card, so I responded by telling her I could use a trip. I am broke, making 2.13 an hour waiting tables, and I don't even have a bank account or credit card. Only the waiting tables was true, and the wage.

She hung up.

Another time around that period I got a call at home that I won a car.

I told him no thanks, I have a car. He got really mad and told me it's mine.

I told him I was sure there was a way to pick a new winner. He was still yelling when I hung up after offering him an alternative, deliver the car.

I have been asked about guns.

I haven't, but just about everyone around here carries...I'd probably say something like: You mean like this? and pat the .38 in my pocket.

Ridiculous...Not a damn one of those things are illegal and none of their business.

Its when they believe you and hang up that you start to really worry....

Most of them go silent trying to understand how I don't have a phone, but some are quick on their feet, and if they get too rude with me I say something like, Ooooh, you're making a big commission now aren't you? By the way Mr. Spam caller, I wouldn't buy anything from a prick like you.

Hmm went to the Dr a dermatologist last week they wanted to know the following citing the new health care laws.

If there were any guns in my home
If anybody in my home served in the military
If I ever have been a victim of abuse of any type

This was derm these questions made NO sense and I left before I saw the doctor.

Good for you. I've never have been asked I might leave too if asked.

I stopped using my Rite-Aid card because when you swipe it they ask to donate to charity...and if they beg from me even when I don't use their profile card, I just leave my shit on the counter and walk out saying: I don't like beggars!

Yup...I was asked all of the above. I've been going to this pediatrician for years and none of these questions were asked prior to them being forced into electronic filing which coincided with Obamacare.
