The grooves for your fingerprints seem to be a very good size to trap these particles. I highly doubt they are natural based on the shear volume that occurs even are 30 seconds of exposure. And they are tiny, so tiny I can't extract any for further inspection but they sure do glint like hell under a flashlight and then can be washed off with vigorous scrubbing.
