I've experimented many times by scrubbing my hands like a doc prepping for OR. Inspected them with a n LED flashlight and seen nothing then gone out into the rain and upon inspection my hands were littered with very very tiny shiny metallic looking objects. The grooves for your fingerprints seem to be a very good size to trap these particles. I highly doubt they are natural based on the shear volume that occurs even are 30 seconds of exposure. And they are tiny, so tiny I can't extract any for further inspection but they sure do glint like hell under a flashlight and then can be washed off with vigorous scrubbing.
