I totally understand where you are coming from, and you are right.
Now I guess I want to technically say, look at the path ISIS is taking. Look at what they are actually doing as a fact. Look at what they are saying.
Forget for a minute and look at just that. What do you see?

to target U.S. interests"... That's not the same as saying "the U.S. homeland".... 'Interests' means anything we claim to be in support of overseas - which could be specific governments, embassies, military installations, etc.
How exactly is a group of 3,000 - 5,000 militants taking control of parts of Iraq a threat to the U.S. homeland and American citizens here?
