Anonymous Coward User ID: 56574829 United States 06/25/2014 12:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | July 30th we get the advance estimate for second quarter GDP... I'll be looking forward to that! Quoting: < DL > IS there any reason to believe the number? Their estimate was that we were going to have a 1% growth in the 1st quarter -- dampened by the cold weather. Then it was -1%.... uhhh, the weather was worse than they thought it was, months after it happened. Now they say, and it is a staggering number, negative 2.9%. That is an incredible miss of 3.9% from their first estimate.... so why should I put any faith in the next estimate. the idea of judging growth by how close they are to their estimate is itself a scam... why estimate? Why not compare YoY, or against the % we actually need to maintain stability? I'll answer my own question, so they don't have to admit how bad things actually are |

Reality no longer matters on Wall Street -- it is fake printed money that the markets are running on. Yes, you are correct! If the GDP contracts for two consecutive quarters (i.e., a "recession" occurs), then the Fed will re-engage its $85 Billion/mo QE, and might even try negative interest rates (NIRP) as the Eurozone has now implemented. This economy is now so fucked it's beyond words. |

Currently, the US economy is on massive life-support which, if removed, would kill the patient. |

It's like inflation, they want to keep the sheeple calm, confident in their ponzi scams. . Yes, GDP and inflation data are heavily fudged and manipulated beyond belief. So you have to wonder: if the "published" GDP figure is this bad, then what is the "actual" (non-fudged) GDP figure? -6%? -8%? -10% We know that the "actual" inflation rate is at least 10%, whilst the "published" figure is a bullshit 2% (and even that is high). This is a sign of a country in its final, end-stages and last gasps for existence (i.e., when it must rely on massive propaganda and massive distortions and massive deception / manipulation and massive life-support). |
