The video gives a good explanation of the exponential function using Yankee Stadium as an example. It explains in the time, all the while events are leading up to a crisis 90% of that time things seem normal.

I say we're at 87% of that time.

This video also explains how wealth is divided into three classifications:

Primary wealth are access to sources from which resources can be derived from, such as land, the ocean or even our atmosphere.

Secondary wealth is the resources extracted from resources that can be finished goods, like iron ore mined from land and refined into milled steel.

and finally tertiary wealth are abstractions that associate themselves to primary and secondary wealth in the form of a claim. They are paper instruments like bonds, stock notes and currency.

It is the tertiary wealth that people are very familiar with as we use this as a fungible instrument to conduct trade for the secondary and even primary sources of wealth.

What happens is tertiary wealth goes out of whack with primary and secondary wealth. In an ideal economy tertiary wealth is supposed to reflect some quantifiable and finite amount of resources we have.

However by cycles of inflation and deflation tertiary wealth is used to leverage primary and secondary wealth and deprive their owners of those sources be it from land to the labor from your hands or even ideas of innovation.

Each time this cycle happens the laws of exponential mathematics grow tertiary wealth out of balance with primary and secondary wealth. This problem is further compounded as the exponential growth of tertiary wealth also drives the exhaustion of finite resources at an exponential rate.

The chief resource that is finite and very sensitive to utter exhaustion by exponential laws is oil.

The days when oil bubbled naturally to the surface were the days of cheap oil, but now oil has to be mined deeply and even fracked from shale. Oil will undoubtedly become even more expensive.

What this all means is in our final hours or minutes our economic collapse is about to happen, watch for oil to spike rapidly and not come down. Gasoline climbing to $4, $5 and even $6 per gallon in this country will herald the last moments much like the video's explanation of water completely filling Yankee Stadium in the last five minutes and drowning our handcuffed baseball fan.

Never been my shortcoming, i was aware of our exponential evolving nature since 1994, i envisioned the technological singularity before i even got on the internet and read about it.

Not really. More like offering cliff notes on the video because I know people will be reluctant to spend an hour let alone try to figure out what to watch for when the shit is about to hit the fan.

Watch the price of gas at the pumps. They will dramatically increase as the time draws near.

I got past the intro & understand the relationships of the elements that he will discus. I will watch later to see how it's done and to consider any new knowledge that might be presented.

I stopped watching as soon as he emphasized peak oil. Lost all credibility at that point.

In the USA.

3% of the population produces the food...they are the slaves or lower class...the power plant.

The other 97% are net consumers...the masters or upper class and their middle class servants...they are the light bulbs.

In 2008...the demand by the net consumers or light bulbs...became greater than the supply from the net producers or power plants.

Oh you really missed out then. How the video explains "peak oil" is in two ways. The first is the number of discoveries which available from the petroleum industry. A graph shows the greatest number of oil discoveries in a year happened in the 1960's and ever since then discoveries have been less and less.

The second is when oil was first being refined it was "easy oil" meaning it was readily available on the surface or accessible at reasonable drill depths. Now, those sources of oil are harder to find, requiring deeper drilling and sophisticated techniques to extract.

The days of easy to find easy to extract oil are over. That is what is meant as "peak oil" in the video.
