Harsh punishment for what is a stupid act. This is his third biting offence though, so he should have know better. Has no one to blame but himself.

The whole world Seeing Luis Suarez biting another player — a DEFENDER! — was very uncomfortable for FIFA and they were ALWAYS going to address the whole case swiftly. But those of us who took into consideration that FAAAR worse fouls have been comitted than this small bite that only left a FEW little teeth marks (and NOT all those marks shown in the photoshoped pics) and didn't even draw ONE drop of blood, and for THOSE more malicious fouls only red cards were handed out, took our stand on the whole incident. ^ Kinda' convoluted reply! It really doesn't matter how severe the bite was. Although there are no doubt more career threatening injuries out there that came from the result of an extremely harsh challenge, as a footballer you understand those risks and expect that it will happen to you at some point. Footballers should have a reasonable expectation of not being bitten while playing their sport. The guy has done it three freaking times, and yes I agree he's lucky he didn't get a longer ban.
