We are here on earth because we were created by another species and left here to basically supervise operations on earth (from a time long past). Our creators returned to earth and took all the resources they originally came for an left and abandoned us here.

Yes we have space travel and advanced technology (a lot of now which at this point even you humans have) but it is only sufficient to basically travel between the inner planets and moon. We do not have the ability to leave the solar system anymore than you do.
