It's like when Obiwan says "quiet your mind, listen to the force" or whatever. It is still there, that small quiet voice. Many do not listen and perhaps some now don;t even hear it at all. |

Father, Lord Jesus and Lord Holy Spirit have different voices and different personalities. I spend 2 hours or so per night talking to them and sometimes during the day. I am a "hearer". That's what Lord Jesus told me. I guess it's a spiritual gift that some people have. It's wonderful to get to talk to Him. I ask God questions and He usually answers them one way or another. Sometimes, He doesn't want to answer me and I just have to accept that. I do wish He would tell me about upcoming events and things like that, but I don't get 'Words of Knowledge" like Eddie does. Many hear from Him on a daily if not hourly basis. Scriptures tell us of a falling away that started back in the time of Paul and as time goes on that process accelerates which leads us to what we see today. Its not that HE is not vocal it is just that the ones who want to yield and listen are becoming less and less. |

There are many arguments within the religious crowd that equate those verses to simply suggest that we all have a conscience to listen to, and also simply encourage a quite time. Others outside that group claim that it refers to and justifies deep inner-deity meditation. Both are right, and wrong. The first group is right in suggesting that you need quite, and time. And that a voice of reason does guide us all. That said, many do so without recognizing the reality of divine intervention and communication. The second being right in that it requires deep, meditation. But not on the self, on God. "Be still, and know that I am God." When you think about the reality of our being bound to a physical plane; one in which we are to find, love, and follow God; it's easy to shrug and roll your eyes. But assuming that it is true; That God does exist, and if He does, He needs to be able to communicate with us. Not a loud audible voice, but a still rushing water that guides your thoughts to a certain understanding. And then there are dreams, but that's another subject entirely unto itself. We are human, God is divine. Christ the bridge, offering the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works many functions, one of which is providing the means of influence on us as humans, through subtle (sometimes less subtle) ways in order for us to maintain the direction we're called to. So when we allow ourselves the needed, quite, isolated, clear-minded focus on the Holy Spirit, God, and in quite prayer; the Spirit works to guide us. It's an incredible thing to realize that the reality we exist in, is in connection with a divinity we only know by definition (that is to say when people say "divine", we have no basis of comparison because we've only experienced this existence) is a beautiful love letter between God and us. |

Is it because no one seeks after him? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52833453 It is very common for God to speak to people. It is extremely rare for them to listen. I think this is the best answer. |
