Chinese Boat Sinks Near Disputed Islands w/ Japan -- CAUSE UNKNOWN
A number of Chinese fishermen are missing after a trawler sank in waters to the north of a group of islands disputed with Japan in the East China Sea, state media said on Friday.

The incident happened on Friday morning, the official Xinhua news agency said citing naval sources, near the islands which China calls the Diaoyus and Japan the Senkakus.

"The cause of the accident is yet to be known. Two Chinese naval rescue vessels are heading to the scene," it said in a brief dispatch.

5 days before this incident...

China has accused the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) of endangering its vessels on 22 June as they sailed from the Pacific Ocean to the East China Sea.

"The Japanese side has been tracking, monitoring and interfering with the Chinese ships and planes at close range for a long time, which has endangered the Chinese ships and planes and is the root cause of sea and air security problems between China and Japan", the media report said.
