Since the year 2000, legal and illegal immigrants have taken all new jobs, while native-born Americans have suffered a decline in the numbers employed. Quoting: Tess2012 Government data show that since 2000 all of the net gain in the number of working-age (16 to 65) people holding a job has gone to immigrants (legal and illegal). This is remarkable given that native-born Americans accounted for two-thirds of the growth in the total working-age population. Though there has been some recovery from the Great Recession, there were still fewer working-age natives holding a job in the first quarter of 2014 than in 2000, while the number of immigrants with a job was 5.7 million above the 2000 level... You will also notice wage compression( more jobs being pushed down to minimum wage or close to it) and immigrants willing to accept those wages, because it was in-line with the poorer country which they immigrated from. Life is a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 20400398 United States 06/28/2014 11:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't think that is accurate. Consider the rapid growth of the police state in the US since 911. Our corrupt government has hired on more people than any other employer to support the war on freedom. I wonder how many Americans work for the DHS today? The TSA? All of the mercenary groups? The list goes on and on. Nowadays, if you're a typical narcissistic American, the opportunity to work for the gov for a fat paycheck is hard to pass up. That's what few people realize. It's not like the government and the bankers are single handedly oppressing us. It's our fellow Americans that are doing the grunt work. If you're a natural born American and need a good paying job, go to most any .gov website and click on "hiring opportunities" and do your part in the war on terror. |

Now my company is probably 50% at least indians. You walk down the row of cubes and find you can't pronounce anyone's name. Same in the University system. My old grad school was virtually 100% white, now it's about 40 east asian, 20 east indian, 30 white, and 10 everything else. |
