Border patrol agents testing positive for diseases.
“That tells you that when you’ve got kids coming in from some of these countries where they don’t have great health systems, we gotta watch out,” says Cuellar. “I’ve talked to border patrol down in McAllen. They’ve seen TB; they’ve seen chicken pox; they’ve seen scabies. And according to Border Patrol, 4 or 5 of their agents have tested positive for those diseases.”

THIS is what is most disturbing to me, esp. for those with lower immune systems.

Yes, they should be sent home now. It is good to have proof they are disease carriers.

Glad you agree.

Maybe we should all triple up on the hand washing and stuff. Or, maybe we should just keep our hands in a perpetual state of soap and water and sink.

Yet my children and grandchildren must be immunized till their ears leak mercury before they are allowed in the classroom.

Quarantine them all in Area 51 where they won't expose anybody but each other.

It's hard enough to escape citizens who will not and do not wash their hands in the food service business.

My friend and I visited Trader Joe's here because I had never shopped there. We both sampled some warmed up Creamy Spinach and Artichoke Dip. I know better than that, but I did it anyway. We both became ill that night, the next day and the day after - stomach-related stuff.

So now we are going to import other known diseases of a more serious type. Do you know how contagious Hep A and B are? And if a person already has Hep C (and most do not know they have Hep C), then they are a goner. Either way, an immunization must be had for this.

The article did not mention that one, but that means nothing really. It is contagious by eating or drinking after another person or just close contact. (Hep C is not spread that way.)

And then there's the AIDs problem:

Re: Border patrol agents testing positive for diseases.
Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America and has the world's highest murder rate. More than half of the population lives in poverty and per capita income is one of the lowest in the region. Poverty rates are higher among rural and indigenous people and in the south, west, and along the eastern border than in the north and central areas where most of Honduras' industries and infrastructure are concentrated. The increased productivity needed to break Honduras' persistent high poverty rate depends, in part, on further improvements in educational attainment. Although primary-school enrollment is near 100%, educational quality is poor, the drop-out rate and grade repetition remain high, and teacher and school accountability is low.
Honduras' population growth rate has slowed since the 1990s, but it remains high at nearly 2% annually because the birth rate averages approximately three children per woman and more among rural, indigenous, and poor women. Consequently, Honduras' young adult population - ages 15 to 29 - is projected to continue growing rapidly for the next three decades and then stabilize or slowly shrink. Population growth and limited job prospects outside of agriculture will continue to drive emigration. Remittances represent about a fifth of GDP.

Trader Joes does have the best canned chicken, though, if you are stocking up. Looks like cat food but its delicious.

Yes. They have some good stuff and reasonable, too. I just should not have accepted those freebie samples.

This is not surprising. This is one my my biggest peeves about illegal immigration...the sick and unvaccinated from these countries bringing their diseases and illnesses over here...and every time someone has called me a racist because of it. SMH.

They should all be quarantined when they get here.
