I find it interesting that most of you assume she was jay walking,(crossing the street). However it is stated that she was walking down the middle of the street. Those are two different things. You are not allowed to walk down the middle of a street, potentially obstructing traffic. This is a common occurrence with drunks and other impaired individuals. So maybe you should reconsider the evidence here. “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” ~ Benjamin Franklin |

If the officer really wanted to arrest her, then she would have been taken to the station. A finger print identification or another form would have been used. She was being aggressive and combative. She was not complying with authority. Under the Color of Law! She had every right to. she was breaking the law, whether city code , or state law . jay walking is illegal. You can also go to jail for a traffic violation if you refuse identification for a written citation. Stool Sample Pigeon User ID: 1584396 United States 06/30/2014 05:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This place is truly a police state. Working people here are fucked. I've learned a lot about what's coming down the pike by observing events, keeping up with the local news, and listening to the stories from folks who live here. It's downright fucking disturbing, and between this shit, the border craziness, and the judiciary and political corruption, , I'm starting to wonder if this isn't a beta testing grounds for the Southwest. Cops have hand held scanners and drive through parking lots of bars and restaurants to see who's got a past dui or a medical marijuana card and then sit at the edge of the lot and tail people as they leave. I know a girl who got a dui for driving on prescription pain meds. She got jail time and court ordered classes and fines although she hasnt had a drink in 2 years. It's going to cost her a couple grand. Could fill a book with the shit I've heard. This country is becoming really fucking depressing for anyone who's paying attention. |

The problem you have now in the USA has been resolved successfully in the First American Revolution and in many others guerrilla wars . It took only 3 % of the concerned citizens to get independence . If only 3 % of awake US citizens started a revolution it would be army of over 9 million people . If those millions of people started a guerrilla war , who could stop them ? But the guerrilla force must be determined to shoot criminals in tho police force and government officials and their families . Special attention should be paid to Zionist with double passport . When is it going to happen ? |

She was not apparently crossing outside the cross walk. She was 'walking in the middle of the street'. Now the OPs video is well after the initial part of the stop. It is biased - by design. The news people did a an injustice by not running the entire video. It is shabby journalism. Sorry Philligan...did not realize you were OP... The video is only a partial late in the process. There is audio of the almost the entire stop at one of the local news sources. Anonymous Coward User ID: 59559032 United States 06/30/2014 07:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That's a complicated situation. She wasn't breaking any laws prior to the struggle. The police are in the wrong, in that sense. So the initial, unlawful act, was done by the cops, not by her. The complicated part to this is: yes, she felt she shouldn't have had to show her ID, and she is absolutely correct in that. However, by fighting with the officers, she ended up where she did. Quoting: LeaderOfTheBand With that said, I'm not sure how I would have reacted. Catch 22 situation in my eyes -- argue, risk being arrested, beaten or worse while protecting my rights against unlawful acts by authorities, or offend my own sensibilities and principles, and in turn adhere to the instruction of the authorities for the sake of my family or self, and not getting my ass unlawfully kicked. The bad thing about this is for me, is that the latter is never something I've really gone for. you're making this way too complicated. i agree she shouldn't have to show ID.... but... BUT, once the officer decides to arrest her she has to comply. resisting arrest and kicking the guy in no way helps her. if she wanted to debate "showing her papers" the court is the only place to do this. if she complied she would have won. you can tell her lawyer is very uncomfortable lying on camera. |
