Obama is asking for $2 billion dollars and for more power in responding to the illegal immigration crisis.

He has also asked for $4.9 million dollars for a first-of-its-kind program that will supply illegals with attorneys.

A new facility for illegals is being prepared in New Mexico as we speak.

I will be called a hater for posting this, and I must admit I am really worried for the children being smuggled across the border by drug smugglers.

I feel sorry for all of these people, and I know we must do something for them. However, I am worried about what this will do to the already over burdeoned American taxpayer.

The schools that teach our children are already crowded here in America. School teachers are buying school supplies with their own money.

Many services for the American people are being cut back.
This is bound to get worse. Have the American people worked for a better life for themselves and their children, or have they worked for illegal immigrants? Can we have both in this Country?

What is the answer? What are we going to do? How are we going to afford taking care of our own children and the immigrant children?

NEW YORK – Poor New York City immigrants who otherwise would have faced the complicated immigration system with its threat of deportation on their own will now get legal representation to help them. It's due to a program advocates say is the first of its kind in the country.

The New York Immigrant Family Unity Project will cover all eligible immigrant city residents detained in the system and appearing in immigration courts in New York City or the New Jersey cities of Elizabeth and Newark.

Lawmakers approved $4.9 million for the initiative as part of the $75 billion budget passed early Thursday covering the next fiscal year, which starts July 1.

Footage has been released of a contested event occurring May 20 on the campus of Arizona State University where a college professor was stopped by a police officer while walking to class.

Dr. Ersula Ore, an African-American English professor was crossing the street to avoid on campus construction. Thats when Tempe Officer Stewart Ferrin, a member of campus police, stopped Ore and demanded her Identification before body slamming her on the pavement after she resisted.

I live in Alaska and yesterday, I went fishing on the Kenai Peninsula (Up by the Russian River)…. It was a beautiful day. The fishing was so, so. Caught a half dozen Red Salmon , but only brought home 2.

Decided to check the fish with my geiger counter. No elevated levels, above background (I was not surprised). My concern is that contamination (if there is any, is undetectable with a geiger counter. But in order to properly test the fish, I would have to send it to a food testing lab, with the proper equipment. Does anybody have a recommendation of where I can send it? Or what the cost might be?
The fish looks good, smells good, the meat looks fine. The DNA? Who knows. I will endeavor to tell you how it tastes tonight.

Many states depend on these disability recipients to prop up their economy.

This week, Steve Kroft reported on the U.S. disability fund, which is on track to become the first government entitlement program to run out of cash.

"A lot of it is just people gaming the system," says Kroft. "If you're 50 years old and you've got a bad back, what are you going to do? Are you going to try and take a minimum wage job with no health insurance? Or are you going to try and get on disability?"

The 60 Minutes team reports that the surge in disability applicants can also be explained by the lingering effects of a bad economy. Many people who are unemployed and have exhausted their unemployment benefits appear to be using the disability program for a source of income until they're old enough to collect Social Security benefits.

The question is what happens when the disability fund runs dry? Coburn's investigation predicts that the program will run out of cash within approximately two to three years.

A new video posted on YouTube by renowned Puerto Rican ufologist Reinaldo Rios, again opens the debate about sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFO).

According to the same Reinaldo Rios, the video in question was taken last Monday amid the celebration of the Night of San Juan.

In this two objects are seen "in formation" flying parallel one after the other making "unusual aircraft in known" movements.

I rarely eat meat - can live without it - but I bought some more expensive type ground beef last week for burgers. They were weird; didn't taste good; and couldn't finish. They did not seem spoiled or stink or anything, just weird. I wonder, is this what I ate?

Sweat said she was still inside when she saw the trooper raise a weapon at her dog.

“I ran out my door, jumping up and down screaming ‘don’t shoot my dog, he won’t bite, just let me get him in the house,’” she said.

She said the officer fired one shot toward the dog but missed. She said Willy Pete turned tail and was running back toward her.

“He ran towards me with desperation in his eyes,” she said. “They fired again in my direction. In the direction of my home where my kids were.”

She said three more shots were fired, a total of four shots. Willy Pete, she said, was hit three times. The dog went to the back of the mobile home. Sweat said she found the dog near the air conditioning unit.

“I watched my dog struggle and then die,” she said. “I collapsed in a puddle in the floor, screaming and crying.

“I watched that dog born and I watched him die.”

Apparently these guys crossed the Texas/Mexico border on foot after some party time in Mexico, to later be picked up and taken to Seattle, Washington.

Homeland security officers are still trying to determine why three Ukrainian men crossed the Texas/Mexico border and wound up in Brewster County. CBS 7 visited with the sheriff Monday afternoon who says they had quite a time trying to catch these men.

The Sheriff Deputies searched for the men for hours, calling in for assistance from a DPS helicopter and even horses to track one of the men down. Even after talking with the men, it was evidence found on one of their cell phones that really tells their story.

"Pictures indicate that they got into a ranch house, pictures on the iPhone and video on the iPhone indicate that they did cross the Rio Grande on foot and they document that much. Then right after that, there is a picture of them inside that ranch house,” said Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson.

Because the case is still under investigation Sheriff Dodson isn't able to show the pictures and video but says there are additional pictures of the three men partying in Cozumel and touring Mexico. [link to m.cbs7.com]
