That's why I get so pissed about the whole Evangelical Christian born-again and Catholic forgiveness thing. Like where's the personal accountability for any action if in the deepest recesses of your mind you think you can do any manner of horrible thing and simply be forgiven for it without consequence if you apologize or pray hard enough about it?

There's no excuse for this kind of negligence, no reason to be forgiving when it happens or to make excuses for those who are too busy or unwilling to care for their own freaking offspring.

We live in a society where there's no personal accountability because the vast majority of the populous believe that there's no NEED for it - that anything can be forgiven.

We are talking about depriving innocent children of their futures based upon the need to be at work on time or because we're too busy paying attention to our phones to give a moment's thought to our kids.

Then you have the people like the trolling AC on this thread calling people liberal morons regarding birth control.

Anyone who wants a kid born, but not cared for properly is right in the same group as those who neglect and abuse children and should be dismissed as mentally defective.

Of COURSE society benefits directly from birth control being available to anyone who wants it. Abused, neglected, unwanted children directly impact society as a whole - not just the sperm donor and woman that squeezes them out.

To pretend that it is not totally practical to provide birth control for all citizens of reproductive age who desire it as a social issue is complete and utter rubbish.

It might stop or be drastically reduced if we start arranging public hangings for the shit for brains parents who neglect and abuse and kill their own progeny.

Fear of painful death tends to be a pretty powerful deterrent.

Of course, I'm sure you'd rather we focus all of our attention on what people are doing in the bedroom rather than worry about how the next generation of humanity is being nurtured and cared for.

It's true - there is virtually NO accountability anymore and you are SO right about one reason being the utterly meaningless term "forgiveness".

I am SO disgusted by people excusing and "forgiving" every damn thing, no matter how heinous, how horrible . . . even more minor things that are hurtful or detrimental in some way . . . they just embrace and forgive. It is unconscionable!

I have debated this with just about everyone I know, the issue of "forgiveness" and I'm appalled by their sappy, stupid, lack of logic . . . I tell them that when someone does something terrible, harmful, willfully mean and hurtful, etc. - if you then "forgive" them it is equitable to a free pass which in turns tells them they can do it again and again, perhaps to you, perhaps to others . . . and NO ONE will agree with me. I've been called names because of my position on this - but I don't care . . . I remain adamant that you do NOT "forgive" such things, because it sends the wrong message, it is not right, AND may I mention that it also has to do with self-respect . . . I learned a long time ago, after letting bad people off the hook too many times for too many egregious things, that once I realized they should not be given a free pass, my own self-esteem was strengthened and I felt proud of the fact that I hold people to a reasonably high standard and I will NOT back down.

This country has an epidemic of no accountability, of people with no conscience who throw around the word "forgiveness", and people who have no self-respect or scruples.

I was actually thinking along the same lines while reading this.... or something as simply as a device hung from the rear view mirror that communicates "baby in back" or something. Seriously... they can enforce something like this. The law everywhere requires people to have car seats when they leave a hospital with a newborn. This could be a similar requirement.

The kid had been dead so long , he was decomposing. It's a very strong, foul odour. He didn't notice that either. It was so strong it stunk for hours after cops had the car with the door left open.

Thst poor child suffered so badly. Being tied up, trapped is horrible in itself. Nevermind the rest of it.

How the HELL do you forget an almost 2 year old. If he was a normal kid and it was first thing in the morning he wouldn't have been asleep he would have been wide awake and getting cranking. My kid would have been talking, singing, being a pain in the ass from the moment I got her in the carseat till we arrive at our destination.

I could understand forgetting if they were a sleeping silent newborn and you're sleep deprived but not with a person that is actively communicating with you. A toddler by definition is never out of sight/ our of mind......

This thing stunk to high heaven from the moment I first saw it. Broke my heart.
