I wrote a college paper in the first college class I was in called "The History of Western Civilization" where I was told to write about a historical figure that had a major influence on western society today. I wrote about Jesus and how his teaching and story had an enormous impact on cultures and the history of the world for the past 2000 years. I was given an F and was told "You were supposed to write about historical figures, mythological people are not acceptable." I stopped going immediately after this.

Whether real or not, there is ZERO question that the figurehead of Jesus has had an insane influence on all of western culture and civilization. If a college professor can't see this, I choose to to call my time with them an "education" and certainly won't pay for it.

White privilege is real and racism exists. In the last month I've experienced it twice. The first time I was at a baseball game and while we had good tickets, I wanted to move to a section down the left field line that didn't have anybody sitting in those seats. I did so because we were in the middle of the section and I had my children with me. When I got to the section, I asked the usher if we could sit in that section and he initially told me that we couldn't and would need to move to our seat that closer to home plate but then recanted and said, go ahead but please clean up before you leave.
A half inning later, a black family came to our section and the same usher came and removed them and told them they couldn't sit in that section, no explanation, just that heI don't have couldn't have them sit there, so they left. There was about 300 seats in that section and we were the only ones allowed to sit there. This was an MLB game by the way.
Last week I had to into Wal-Mart because my son needed a belt for camp the following day and went we checked out, I had a few other items that went along with it. As I proceeded to check out, the woman in front of me was black and she had household cleaning items and groceries, nothing crazy but about 12 items. Upon her checking out she was told by the checkout attendant to keep her receipt out because they would most likely check it on the way out. Mind you, this lady looked fairly professional and no way ghetto.
When I checked out, I was told have a great night and walked away. As we got to the door, I noticed there wasn't anybody checking anything, nada, zilch. My 10 year old son wanted to know why we weren't told to hold our receipt out and the woman in front of use was. He didn't understand it.
You say white privilege? Yes, because I wasn't a victim of racism, I get to freely move without suspicion and I get things because I'm white and it's not fair.

Not to say racism doesnt exist, but each person is different and will (or wont) judge another based on there own reasons. The individual (not the entire race) is responsible.
