Is the Holy Bible reliable?
Question: "Does the Bible contain errors, contradictions, or discrepancies?"

Answer: If we read the Bible at face value, without a preconceived bias for finding errors, we will find it to be a coherent, consistent, and relatively easy-to-understand book. Yes, there are difficult passages. Yes, there are verses that appear to contradict each other. We must remember that the Bible was written by approximately 40 different authors over a period of around 1500 years. Each writer wrote with a different style, from a different perspective, to a different audience, for a different purpose. We should expect some minor differences. However, a difference is not a contradiction. It is only an error if there is absolutely no conceivable way the verses or passages can be reconciled. Even if an answer is not available right now, that does not mean an answer does not exist. Many have found a supposed error in the Bible in relation to history or geography only to find out that the Bible is correct once further archaeological evidence is discovered.

We often receive questions along the lines of “Explain how these verses do not contradict!” or “Look, here is an error in the Bible!” Admittedly, some of the things people bring up are difficult to answer. However, it is our contention that there are viable and intellectually plausible answers to every supposed Bible contradiction and error. There are books and websites available that list “all the errors in the Bible.” Most people simply get their ammunition from these places; they do not find supposed errors on their own.

How can you say, \"We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,\" when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? Jeremiah 8:8 , Zephaniah 3:4

Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

You are so right!

God Himself promised to preserve the word forever.

If people would just get into the word for themselves, and search it out prayerfully, with sincerity they would find the real answers to their questions.

Plus, as you mentioned, there are numerous websites, with original biblical interpretations, and websites where scriptures can be compared from each version. 99% of the time, people will find that they are saying the same thing.

If a person is sincerely seeking the truth, they will find it. Jesus promised this, and it is true.

The ones who are twisting it up for the most part are those who haven't even really looked into it for themselves.

They don't realize who their master is....sad to say...

The only one; 66 books, 40 authors, 1 story written over 2000 years and 100% accurate.

There are several "translations" but the text itself is consistent and has not been altered.

Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint crushed any 1/2-hearted argument formerly raised by sincere critics.

Now people just say thing like you did with 0 evidence and a need to stir up trouble.
