If there's one thing I fear it's old age, I think 45 is a good number to go at, just like my dad, and his dad, maybe even earlier, all downhill from there if you think about it, seriously don't want to die an old fart

You know not of which you speak. I'm older than you by several years. Recipe for a good life as you get older is work hard, play harder, keep it up as long as you can. Staying active physically and mentally have a huge effect on how you age. I personally know people my age who are looking into which retirement home they should choose in a few years. Me, just got done working my ass off in 90 degree heat the last few weeks, got the wife drunk last night and about wore my dingus out on her, getting ready to leave next Friday on a 3300 mile trip on a motorcycle, lasting 10 days. Start living, instead of worrying about dying.

Or die reading the works of the great minds throughout history, considering your place in the universe? The choices in modern life have been narrowed down to Reality TV and constant action, with no room for the contemplative life of traditional old age.

Run around engaging in pointless time wasting activities, or sit down engaging in pointless time wasting activities.
