Unless you're making chicken fried steak, I see no reason to ever tenderize a perfectly good steak.

Agreed. Take a rib eye roast. Put in in the frig in package and just turn it every few days. Keep it there for 6 to 8 weeks. Slice off a steak. You will never have a better steak for the grill. Its almost like its got to rot a while to be good. If it smells a bit wash it off. Best steak ever!!
