Agnostic considering jumping over
The more I accidentally glance at the universe and realize there is an awful lot of matter out there, the more it dawns on me that maybe it didn't come from nothing, and I should figure out what this whole "god" thing is about.

I often see hardline atheists and people inexperienced with the christian bible claim that even if there was a God it clearly isn't from that fairy tale book.

Where should I look?

I'm thinking in this mystery writing God will at least; claim to be the creator of all, give us some basic rules everyone could agree were right, and offer us some kind of direction. There hopefully is much more.

There are so many Gods is there any some could suggest?

Re: Agnostic considering jumping over
Jesus is God. Just speak to him in sincere prayer, talk to him from the heart. Ask him to show you the truth, to reveal his existence to you in a way you'll understand. Be persistent with it until you see results. Everyone has the capacity for faith (the act of prayer itself is faith). The very fact that you're thinking about this now tells me that the lord is working in your heart, encouraging you to look into this because he wants you to know him and know the truth. He is going to respond in some way, maybe not in a way you expect, but it's going to come. I'm Catholic and praying the rosary has helped me greatly in my relationship with Christ. Look into that as well. Start off simple, just sincere prayer from the heart and go from there.
Pray this prayer to blind Satan:

The above poster is correct in that when you pray to God for a sign that He exists he will show you. I know this works, I have seen it for my self. Also, after you are convinced He is real then find some like-minded people and you will find a way to becoming a mature Christian.

When you read the Bible, remember this... it doesn't matter which one you use. Just use one and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to understanding.
But Lord, he stinketh!

All is one and you are God.

No big deal if you do not accept this.

Read the Bible and/or G.K. Chesterton.

Or just a of Huston Smith.

They will point you in the right direction.

Can you create anything from nothing other than a child with help?
