Supposedly they were visiting. for some reason the ex wife took her 4 kids to stay down the street at the grandparents while the sister, sister's family stayed at the ex wife's house.

Makes no sense. I might not have that exactly right, but it's close. It was a head scratcher from the first newscast.

Just wanted to add that on Facebook, when 48 Hours posted a link to a CBS news story on this, it was encouraging to read a long list of comments that questioned this alleged shooting. There were repeated comments that said "This just doesn't seem right" or "There's something wrong here." Usually, one sees the usual "guilty" or "not guilty" comments from those that follow the 48 Hours FB page. Followers seem to be a wide cross-section of viewers of the show - always seems rather "middle American."

I expected to see loads of condolences, "poor girl" comments, along with "hang the perp."

So I was certainly surprised to see that the comments were populated by numerous people who were questioning if the shootings actually did occur. I viewed the comments about three hours after 48 Hours posted the link today, so not sure if the ratio still holds, but it was encouraging that so many had apparently not bought, and are not buying, much about this story.

My thoughts on this Houston "incident" are...perhaps they needed to keep her hospitalized and not parade her, literally, out in public two days after this "horrific" incident in order to make it at least appear to have actually happened. And, since when are the bloody executions of six people celebrated with balloons and parades? Hell, women in the crowd listening to this happy young lady were more upset than she was.

Also, if these shootings did happen, who can we report the child abuse to since this child Cassidy is a minor and is being told by adults to get up in front of people and make speeches only days after her entire family was murdered right in front of her? What kind of "good mental sense" is that? Who is looking out for her and her trauma? No one since apparently the adults around her are only concerned about photo ops and letting us know that it's "okay" to be "happy" after tragedies because, you know, we're all going to a "better place."

Problem is TPTB are hoping we all get to that place sooner rather than later.

Also - in viewing the slow car chase, there WERE numerous opportunities for the police to ram the vehicle off the road away from what seemed like periodic populated areas. What were they waiting for? Oh, right. For the perp to drive into a multi-family housing complex where who knows would get killed by gunfire. Makes perfect sense.

I've called hoax from the get go...
I have yet to be convinced at all otherwise.

It's not about expectation, it's about seeing the writing on the wall.

The girl was supposedly shot in the back of the head - and was wounded bad enough that she was able to convince a shooter who had killed everyone else in her family that she was dead.

The first thing that would have happened when she arrived at the hospital would have been the removal of all of that pretty hair so that they could get a better look at her wound.

Not only does she not have any bandages, she has NOTHING that would indicate that her hair has been touched.

Look at her arms.

Another thing that would have happened would have been getting an IV line in her. You should be able to notice SOME indication of a hasty IV insertion.

I mean, she's a fair skinned little girl, you'd imagine she'd get a little bruising within a 2 day period of being shot in the head and taken to the hospital for treatment in critical condition.

Also, as I previously pointed out, the mormon church wasn't really a big fan of Harry Potter. Some LDS publishers even published like Harry Potter alternative books with less religiously offensive magic.

I can't imagine a good little mormon girl quoting Harry Potter rather than the good ol' Book of Mormon.

(And does anyone else think it's odd that this happens the same week that they find a Harry Potter actor's decomposing corpse in Death Valley?)

You can explain away part of the problems that people are having with her behavior, but to explain them all away, you begin contradicting yourself.
