Here's you clue: "..starts up and goes away.." what did you eat before the flare-up? Please monitor carefully what you eat.. this will give you an indication of what might cause the flare-up.. For me its citrus or eating acidic food in general.. so, bottom line its all related to your diet.. |

Besides, it's on the back of my knees, on top of toes, on the back of my neck, on top of arms(progressed from top of hands), and sometimes on my lips. Fuck this...might be time for yearly, 2-week, prednisone treatment. Trust me...this sucks...worse than a Hoover!!! Last Edited by jetphyxr on 07/14/2014 12:15 PM |

I'm convinced that smog, oil refinery deposits in the air, and general pollution make woody, sometimes, break out !!! Please go into the exploration of the cause with an open mind.. 10-1 its an internal issue (leaky gut syndrome).. so your intestinal system has some inflamation (perhaps due to some other issue - which could have started recently - perhaps the pollution your talking of).. but essentially harmful substances from food now directly enters your bloodstream via this inflamed area and this causes the skin to react among other things.. So, you are right that the cause could be external/environmental as well.. I would start with your laundry detergent first.. since this is an area that is not exposed.. but is in direct contact with your clothing... other that that.. you may have to move to a (relatively pollution free area) if your absolute belief is that the cause is your new environment.. |

I'm shoving the same thing down my pie hole as I ate in the other states. This is not fair...maybe more veggies would help.... |

You are assuming that your body is not aging and everything will remain the same forever.. please consider doing as suggested above.. as was previously suggested you could have an inflamed area in you intestines which now results that the food you normally ingest is now toxic to your body.. I have been dealing with eczema since childhood and know what the causes are in my case.. may be different in your case.. Another trigger could be stress.. were you or are you in any stressful situations recently? Your body may be handling stress differently as you get older.. so do not dismiss this either.. |

Use baby detergent and no dryer sheets. No perfumed soaps. Use Cetiphil type cleanser. Baking soda in a warm tube very helpful! I have break outs when I am forced to use chlorinated water supplies - I have been in remission from eczema completely since living with a well. Water, soaps, detergents can make a big difference. Extra Virgin coconut oil is the best thing going on for the skin. But monkey butt or diaper rash cream can help too! Wash yourself with gentle stuff, use one of the above and put on boxers or something for night time. Try not to scratch, you know what they say its the "itch that rashes" not the rash that itches - those of you who suffer this know what I mean. |
