Bill Maher was on the Daily Show a couple weeks ago. The whole time was him promoting gay people. He said, and I paraphrase, "LGBT people are the largest minority in America."

Really? Was he forgetting about black, latino, asian, and all of the other minorities that make up a greater percentage of the population? WTF

I have a few gay friends and they're all right, except for one, but he's not my friend now, lol. But they are not in anyone's face about this. It's the media that is pushing it. Hell, I have even been to a gay marriage. It was funny to see how people reacted... I live in small-town Iowa and everyone was so scared to speak out, even if the conservative folk around here disagreed, they felt compelled to embrace it and brag about their new-found liberal ideals. OUT OF FEAR, of being singled out as a fucking barbarian. The gay "conspiracy" is working, even in small-town America. Thanks to our ever diligent media.

That's still 10 million US citizens, or about a third of the population of california. Media representation would have you believe it's many more than that, but 10 mil is still a lot of fucking people.

In the scheme of things, it is a drop in the bucket.

If it is genetic then being gay will die out as it is a gene that can't be passed on via butt boning.

Unless the gene(s?) are recessive and can be passed down via non-active carriers.

Of course the main purpose of our existence is to procreate but if the whole human population was straight we would be way overpopulated and in my opinion I think it has now come to this point. Homosexuality is just as much a part of nature as is heterosexuality and it does serve a very important purpose for our existence.
Yes sex is completely designed to procreate but it's also designed for pleasure and whether you bigoted individuals want to believe it or not anal sex was designed for men to practice with each other. Nature didn't intend it to be viewed as this disgusting repulsive act that so many people perceive it as. I don't give a fuck if the majority believe that it is..it doesn't necessarily make it so, it's entirely subjective.Plenty of straight's practice it as well.

Being gay, bi transgender or whatever else is not a choice..you can not choose who or what you are attracted too, the only choice you have is whether you decide to pursue your desires or that lifestyle.

I do not beleive that statistic. I am bi and have traveled all over the country in all kinds of circles from parties in the Hamptons to shots of Beam in blue collar bars, worked with engineers and ditch diggers, met and knew many people, anyhoo; from my personal experience I would say the actual number is higher, closer to a previous statistic that put it at 10 to 12 percent of the population.
