Those are the F-18s of Navy Squadron VFC-12 "ambush". you can actually see the VFC-12 logo written on the top part of the fuselage on the plane still wearing splinter camo.
This particular unit is usually "playing the bad guys" and traditionally, their planes are painted in Russian paint schemes.
This planes were painted in a variety of Russian collors and since around 2012 they were painted in a copy of the the Su-35 prototype "arctic splinter" camo.
The Russians use the new "eggplant" colors on quite a few new fighters, so no surprise to see US "aggressor" squadrons using it on some of their planes.
