And i doubt they will. These kind of symbolic gestures have so far been all bark and no bite. Lot of crazy shit has to go down before i see Russians firing on US fighters. The US is basically already in a unofficial/undeclared state of war with Syria by bombing their convoys moving inside their own borders, and yet still they refuse to act. (I'm referring to their presence at Al-Tanf) The main thing is that "US-coalition" was allowed to fly over Syria without being tracked by Russian air defence as hostile force. Since now they will be locked on and buzzed all the time over Syria. It makes any passovers quite uncomfortable I would say. Also it allows immediate response after any hostile or provocative action. Jamming as well ?
