Anonymous Coward User ID: 57335050 United States 07/19/2014 08:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Works for my insomnia and social anxiety. I take 1G every morning of bulk powder in my juice of choice. Phenibut kicks in subtly about three hours after I take my morning dose and tapers off five hours after it kicks in - that's my experience. The 'chill-like' effect lingers for the remainder of the day, night and into the following morning. Emphasis on subtle, but that's all I am looking for. I still have my 'edge' during waking hours. I sleep through the night, a full seven or more hours straight, and wake feeling refreshed in a neutral mood (it has been years of insomnia-wrecked nights and high anxiety days, so these are huge gains of taking Phenibut, for me). With Phenibut I feel an increased sense of calm and centered focus and am more relaxed around people. No jitters, no 'high', just the best of my 'normal' self. I have been using the same dose, daily for a month. I have gotten consistent, daily results, which is a first, for me. I could never bring myself to try sleeping pills or ask for Rx meds, but tried every herb, alcohol and form of meditation, which would work, but not on a daily basis, eventually growing tired of spending money and inconsistent results. My research led me to GABA receptors, which led me to nootropics and Phenibut. My expectation is to use daily, without increasing the dose, as long results are consistent. At the very least, I would like to run Phenibut for six months, to normalize my sleep and social patterns. It is so nice to hit REM sleep and remember my dreams again! The one side effect I have is low alcohol tolerance (one drink is equal to three drinks; great for a lazy weekend excuse to take a nap!). Caffeine does counteract this side effect, as needed or desired, for me, without experiencing a caffeine crash afterwards. Ciao! |

I did quite a bit of research on it to see if it could be used instead of a benzo for anxiety, which it can, but has slow onset, taking as much as two hours or more to kick in. It's probably great for people that use them once or twice a week as opposed to daily. It upregulates dopamine, and has its effects on GABA B. So basically you feel good and have less anxiety and tend to have great sleep. It has a long half life for what it does, about 5 hours. It supposedly helps up HGH which is why a lot of body builders seem to use it. It's good for what it does, but should be approached cautiously for many of the above reasons. Bear in mind this is a prescription drug in some countries for things like Alcohol Withdrawl and Anxiety. It builds tolerance fast. Additionally a lot of people seem to think it isn't working and redose. This stuff can produce pretty much a similar hangover to alcohol. It's probably less addictive than short acting Benzos but people end up using it daily at greater amounts and end up just as addicted. Additionally the fact that is works on GABA B is a problem because Benzos work primarily on GABA A, so if you are in. Phenibut Withdrawl a benzo won't alleviate all the symptoms. Just because this is legal OTC doesn't mean it is safe. If you want to read some horror stories of people who took this stuff you can read some on this site: [link to www.mindandmuscle.net] Personally I think it would be pretty safe if used sparingly and not in large amounts. I'd never use more than maybe 2 grams unless you're a pretty big person. I'd probably use it no more than twice a week and not on consecutive days. |

Gives you kind of an "ooooooh yeah ... " feeling ... However, I do seem more agitated than normal on the days I'm off it. Don't know if that's just my imagination for what ... |

Hi op. Have you tried magnesium? Yep, does not work. lef.org has the best affordable Melatonin out there abd it works great. BTW, I got a new trick to put you to sleep and it works better than doing a yoga type mantra while laying down Go to bed Make sure the room is pitch black and close your eyes. Now concentrate on looking with your eyes and let nithing else enter your mind. You see nothing and will quickly nod off out of I guess boredom. Works great every time. |
