I was wearing SWEATERS to work last week in the Boston suburbs. It was chilly in the overnight and early daytime hours.

Its actually an excellent idea.
If SHTF and it is a brutal Winter, you must protect the food chain as you MAY HAVE to rely on it.
Protect the smaller animals for the bigger animals to eat and keep the cycle of life alive.

True - in central/coastal NJ - where I work - in an office building with a major Fortune 100 company headquarters across the hall.....they have been trapping MICE this summer inside the building - on the 3rd floor. Been working there for 8 plus years....NEVER saw/heard of this happening before. AND even with all the rain, the leaves on some trees are brown already, and the grass is brown.

SOMETHING is not right. SOMETHING has changed.

All large companies have plenty of rats on the payroll/take.

In Central Alabama, the leaves on the trees here have been turning for the last 2-3 weeks. We aren't in drought, but we have had a few days of record breaking lows so far this summer. I've seen leaves also already falling of some trees.

I think it's going to be very cold this winter. Because we're so far south, our leaves don't usually start to turn until late August. It's about 6 weeks early for us this year though.

One of my dogs is getting his
winter coat which usually starts late September.

Good, I hope we have a cold winter. I love the cold and I can't wait for summer to end already. It's too bloody hot here right now, no rain to speak of for weeks and nothing much in the forecast. Breezy in the mornings, then the wind quits and it's just blazing hot, even overnight. Enough already!

I noticed a few acorns dropping on 8/1/2014..not alot, but a few.

That's abnormal for Mpls MN at this time of the year!

Acorns don't drop until late sept/oct.

Better hit the stores and stock up on heating supplies now before they jack the prices way up. I live in south FL. No worries here.

Well, SW FL here, and we haven't seen a single solitary mosquito!

Not that I'm complaining, but it's usually THICK with them in summer.....we've had rains - like monsoon rains - but not consistent and the ditches are all still DRY the very next day after the rain. And then it doesn't rain again for a day or two....so the rains get absorbed into the ground, so no standing water.

So very dry here.

Not saying that. I have what I need. And to the SW FL mosquito guy, TAKE SOME OF OURS PLEASE! Chickagunya virus anyone?

I'd be happy if I were wrong but I've been seeing too many signs for a harsh winter.

Red wing Blackbirds stopped nesting weeks ago, they're getting ready to leave. Spiders galore, that's a classic sign of a hard winter. Trees are getting a subtle yellow. Someone mentioned mice and I'm seeing the same behavior.

I used to mow my lawn once a week during spring and summer, and this year, I have only cit it four times and realized how little I mow this year after reading this.

I also have tons of acorns dropping. Many green still, and tons of small ones.


I have NOT noticed even one chemtrail in the last say, three weeks.
Now I do see a lot of natural clouds though.

I think it's more noticeable up north. Here in the Florida panhandle I haven't noticed too much difference. At most we've been within 4 degrees from the average except for 1 morning last week where we dipped to about 67 which beat our record low.

In New Jersey my friends say they can feel a definite difference from the norm. They've told me everything seems off there.
