at 2:45, you can see the lion next to the lion that attacked, lifting his tail, flexing his nuts. He's displaying signs of aggression, taunting the poor lion that got violent. He's basically threatening to piss on him, and right before he attacks the trainer, the dick lion comes down to get in the frustrated lions face.

You go first, bitch ! Have your balls cut off and then go play with your dolls. Think how mellow you'll be !

I dont' think they're treated too cruelly, you know that Sifried and Roy they treat the animals really nice, I don't really think you can even train an animal like that with cruelty, or negative reinforcement, they just use positive reinforcement like with dolphins give them food, or playtime as a reward.

I think the one lion had to take a piss real bad and it was just causing discomfort and unease.

Why did the guy continue to provoke and poke the lion after it calmed down?

I'm all for letting the lions 'be where they're at' (Eddy Murphy phrase) and let them roam the jungle.

I like how the humans have to show their authority by poking their sticks at the lions. Why didn't they just get the fuck out of that cage?

I'm having trouble seeing the whole video, but the animal doesn't return to his stool. The back up man is like the rodeo clown, he's protecting the injured guy and the lady.

the lion isn't even overly aggressive, a stick wont stop one who's serious

notice how they don't hurt the woman though, the second attack on the second trainer is because he jabs the one lion really aggressively, out of spite.

The lions sensed it was not self defense, that it was a spiteful act and that made them go on the offensive.

but they never attacked the woman, it was a personal thing with that specific trainer.

I bet he's done that before, been sort of harsh with them and they were going after him specifically. They never even looked at the woman trainer.

depends on the zoo keepers, how they design their enclosures, how much space they have to work with, how much money they can spend.

I think if you got real creative, and learned what the animals enjoy doing, what games they enjoy they could be a lot happier.

We invent sports like basketball, baseball, football for humans, you could use your insight into the animals behavior to create games for them.

Dogs at race tracks looove to chase that little fake rabbit around the track, that's why they run like that, it's not because they are being forced to, they just love to play the sport, to chase the rabbit.

Other lions just standing around and watching the one brave one.

Kinda like humans.

Group mentality is just being a literal pussy while the few courageous ones leads the charge.

shock collars would not work, they would understand you are doing it and would never trust you, they would absolutely hate and loathe you. Probably make them rip your head off if they were agitated already. They work for stuff like electric fences, but not for training them. They can train them not to do something, but they can't train them to do something. And if you lose the trust then they are no longer trainable, if they fear you they will just become passive aggressive.

they have hundreds of shows a year without a glitch, because the lions are having fun, they love putting on these shows, obviously 99% of the time.

What do lions do normally? just sit around, bored in the jungle, maybe go chase a gazelle. sleep 20 hours a day. Wow.

Lions shouldn't be in a circus setting in the first place...humans...getting what they deserve.

I've personally only been to three different zoos. None of them had adequate pen areas for most of the animals. I've also seen tons of pictures from other zoos online and a lot of them don't seem adequately equipped either.

I can kind of see what you're saying about creating "fun" for them, but they can only have so much fun in a day. What do they do in their down time when the game is over? Go back to the cage to sleep until the next game time? Sounds like yard time at a prison.

One might argue the fact that animals have all the fun they want and all the space they want in the wild where they belong. We can completely eliminate the need of having to come up with "fun" activities for them by not capturing them to begin with.

And even if someone were truly dedicated to making a zoo with the biggest cages he could afford, I doubt very highly you could provide adequate space for any kind of flying bird. Especially larger, predatory birds like Eagles. The cage would have to be as big as... the sky!

people had pet falcons 4000 years ago, and the falcons would bring them offerings of game birds, as a sign of affection.

The falcons would feed their human friends.

You have to wonder, how the first falconer befriended the falcons and established that bond of trust with them.

The falcons loved to hunt for sport, for humans. They understand the idea of sports completely.



Obviously falcons were never being forced to do shit, they could fly away anytime they want to. They enjoy the companionship with humans.

Plus they brought in tasty food for free, for people for 4000 years.

A bond like that is totally awesome because it's reciprocal. And I definitely agree animals enjoy the fun of sport. You are right.

I think its important for all the African Americans to see why they were such a failure in their home land.

The animals ruled and they were the prey. Where the white man uses the animals for fun. Now that's superiority.

I was rooting for the lions. I hate circuses, they are cruel and inhumane.

This amazing video shows why they used falcons to hunt with. they don't just kill doves, they will take down big prey, a big canadian goose. That's a serious meal for the whole family.
