They can't land on the comet.
Why? Because comets are highly charged because of the high elleptical orbit. The potential difference between the lander and the comet is HUGE.
Even when it lands softly, it will explode with a HUGE ELECTRIC FLASH.

It's time you gave up on it... I think the Rosetta mission is the perfect test for the electric comet belief. Rosetta is closing in with 67P and in November the Philae lander will hopefully land on the surface so according to electric comet we should see a large electric discharge at some point. Electric comet people claim that the deep impact imaptor was destroyed by a huge spark. They like to call electric comet a theory so it must make strong predictions and be falsifiable, here is the experiment, lets see what happens. K
