Pilots fly a LOT to rack up air time. Most US aircraft can create sonic booms (traveling faster than sound). That's why it was felt so violently and heard so far away.

But who am I kidding? It's obviously aliens, or an upcoming super event (volcano or 10.9 earthquake)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59418227

Not far fetched at all.
But the plane(s) would have to be really close to cause the kinds of reports coming out.

No more reports of lights or flames?

Probably a reduced version of Chelyabinsk.

Pedobear gets pissed when you invade his Filesonic files.

Pedobear will take out your windows with a sonic wave.

I do too.

They'd have been aware of such training anyway prior to this occurring, and it wouldnt have taken them an hour to freaking concoct such a bullshit story.

Snippet From story

[link to tablet.wavy.com]

The USCG also called Navy officials, who said they are currently conducting some training exercises at a bomb disposal range in the area, that includes aircraft.

The Navy has not confirmed they are responsible for the loud noise. No further information has been released.

So this is NOT confirmed. It is a news report by Wavy-TV

Re: Possible offshore explosion situation outer banks, nc
Come to think of it I said before in my previous post that they didn't occur when I lived on Oak Island, and they didn't.

They were one right after another when I rented a car from SC and drove up there to the convenience store last year. I just drove up there this week. No booms. For several days.

But I remember walking to high school as a teenager in Wilmington. I missed the bus. I remmember a ground shaking boom as I walked down the two land highway towards school.

But there was no truck driving down the highway which is what it reminded me of.

It's not seismically active like Charleston which hasn't had an earthquake for sometime.

What kind of ordnance could create such a disturbance over such an area?

I'm thinking something more along the lines of an LP container ship going up.
