Never mind the official unemployment rate, 1/3rd of working age adults in the U.S. don't work. A record high number are collecting disability, food stamps, SSI, etc.

Well...I applied for seven jobs and got five offers. The job market for higher quality workers is picking up but the employers are being picky about previous experience and qualifications, completing thorough background checks, and drug testing. Other than that, there is a shit-load of low-paying jobs out there just begging for workers but who wants to work for $10 per hour?

2 reasons come to mind quick:

1 redoing and correcting the work sent to third world shit holes.

2 company not replacing retiring or employees leaving the company.

Businesses LOVE those tax credits the federal government gives them for hiring 'oppressed' people (pretty much everybody except white heterosexual males). Every demographic group in this country has full time, professional shill 'advocates' who lobby businesses and the government on the behalf of (fill in the blank), everybody EXCEPT white, heterosexual males. yes. Their 'advocates' will get them their $10./hr job, then get them their government 'entitlements'. Do people realize how badly business interests in this country are screwing you over? They lobby the government for unrestricted immigration and work visas so the job market becomes tight and wages become depressed, then the government gives these 'newcomers' every 'entitlement' under the sun to make up for the low wages and shitty benefits (effectively subsidizing the business models that have created the problem), and as a final insult, they give businesses who hire 'oppressed' people kickbacks in the form if tax credits.
