A another forum I go to on the subforum parents of toddlers, you would be amazed at how many parents deal with masturbation in 2-6 year olds who found their happy button and haven't been programed enough to keep from pushing that button for all its worth in public. Abstinence does not work. We tried that for many generations and kids were still messing around and teens were getting pregnant. We as a species need to face reality, sex is going to happen and the best we can do is teach our kids respect for their body and the risks that come with sex and teach them about safe sex, not only to prevent pregnancy, but to also keep them from passing many forms of STD's around. Research has shown that young kids who are educated in safe sex and even told what forms of sex are safe, the less likely they are to get pregnant and/or get and STD. Those kids who's parents preach abstinence are, oddly enough, the ones who get the most STD's and pregnancies... Gee I wonder why? So yeah, planned parenthood are going to educate about sex, not scare the bejesus out of the kids and hope the fear keeps them from having sex. I think that you miss the entire point of what you describe. It isn't pre-programmed sex that some little kids chase, it's pleasure of the flesh. Just as they will happily sit down to an entire package of sweets. Do you as a parent instruct them to vary the sweets ? Of course you don't. You instruct them that pursuing such eating will see them rotting their teeth and gaining weight. So why in the heck would you instruct them to vary their sexual activity when the root of the issue is that not all things that seem pleasurable are to be deemed good to pursue? |

Most people, especially young people have no clue of the difference between lust and love. Most young people don't have a clue on how easy it is to get an STD. Most young people cannot comprehend living 18 years with a child and being responsible for that child. Behavior that goes on in secret doesn't usually end well. I don't believe in abortion, but I understand you can't force young people who make mistakes suffer the consequence of unwanted children. Unwanted pregnancies shouldn't happen but they do. Alternatives are lacking and not usually supportive of a pregnant teen. Any organization like Planned Parenthood is always going to be criticized. Organizations such as these deal in the gray world of moral behavior where strong beliefs clash with harsh realities. Dirtyboy Think beyond impossible. |

With all due respect, I'm actually dealing with people like myself just a few years ago. Brainwashed and unaware of that fact. People truly believe that sex is equivalent to breathing and eating because why? They have been taught that it is. So they accept organisations such as Planned Parenthood who come along and fill the need of a populace having bought the lies. |
