Morris Dees has used the SPLC primarily as a propaganda, fundraising machine fueled by his direct-mail talents that generates a nice living for himself (the SPLC’s 2010 tax filing lists a compensation package of $345,000 for him as the organization’s chief trial counsel and highest-paid employee) and a handful of other high ranking SPLC officials plus luxurious offices and perks, but that does relatively little in the way of providing the legal services to poor people that its name implies.

LePage has an interesting background. Grew up in a big, French Canadian family in rural Maine. Only spoke French until he was something like 10. Had a difficult family life, ran away from home and lived on his own from the age of 13. Was homeless, living on the streets. Eventually he became rich and successful with a chain of stores. I'm not even sure if he's a high dchool graduate.

Couple of errors:

1. Grew up on the streets of Lewiston, Maine's 2nd largest city.

2. MANAGED (never owned) the Marden's Department Store (2nd-hand junk) chain.

3. Has a business degree from Husson University, and may have a Master's too, I forget.

this is one reason I pinned this. My elderly relative gets LOTS of requests for donations from them. She does not know what it is, it ticks me off.

SO many, especially older folks, simply can NOT accept how bad things are. When they try to accept obvious truths like the FF nature of certain events like 911 or Sandy Hoax, it results in cognitive dissonance which they can not accept, and so they resort to just believing the lies..

Having been a state delegate who was at the convention. It was clear that there was apparent fraud from the 1st hour.
Mr. Charlie deliberately postponed the start of the convention and then later blamed it on us Paul supporters.
So (unfortunately) to say it wasn't real surprise when the Paul delegates were stripped of their credentials in Tampa.

As much as I am upset with Lepage and some of his dealing they pale in comparison to how bad things will be if Michaud is elected.
