We're all just Palestinians to them now.

The important FEDS get taken to Israel to be indoctrinated because they are working for the United States of Israel.

No point in having US cops being pussies as there is a lot of vermin on the US streets. So having the Israelis train US cops is a good idea.

I pretty much see it as once you individually become the object of their attention, you're fucked.

By that, I mean that their is no common ground between the individual citizen and the police in America any more.

Almost anyone would agree that a chance encounter is not particularly welcomed by either party. I'm sure that most would agree that calling them for any reason short of a corpse in the yard is generally not a good idea.

Any way you cut it, something is not right. I think they call it mission creep and the creep has intensified over the last several years. What was once an honorable profession that children were taught to respect has been transformed into something that most middle income and below citizens teach their children to fear.

How long has this been going on?

Can this relationship between the American citizen and the boys in blue ever be repaired?
I do not know the answer but I do know that it was not like this when I was a child or even as a teen and I led a much safer life than kids today.

I'm referring to joint training.

It began in earnest before Bush senior left office, the mission creep to militarize police and paint citizens individually as the enemy.
No Democrat or Republican since has done anything to curb it or even recognize it as a problem therefore I must conclude that is intentional.

     As the fighting continues overseas, some lessons from the Middle East conflict are hitting home right here in Alabama.  Members of the Montgomery Police Department SWAT team are in a five day counterterrorism school taught by a former Israeli servicemember.

     Out at the practice range, the 12 member team learns that timing is everything.  SWAT team member Todd Wheeler notes, "The way the Israelis do it, it's extremely dynamic. It's extremely fast and that's the only way to fight counterterrorism."

     That's also why the Montgomery SWAT team is training with Aaron Cohen.  He's a veteran of the Israeli counterterrorist unit.   Now his four year stint with that team will work for this team.   Cohen says he wants, "to be able to help them reduce risk while responding to terrorist threats while in crowded areas."  Cohen says these drills and the current situation in the Middle East are a powerful combination for him.  He explains,"It's tough. It hits home for me because my unit is working there right now."

Montgomery officers say, if they can absorb the tactics of one of the world's premier counterterrorism teams, they'll learn to move faster and become smaller targets.  It's an international lesson racing to the heart of Alabama crime fighters.  The Montgomery police say counterterrorism training has become essential for all law enforcement in the wake of 9-11. They say this school fills a real need in their department and the new techniques will be applied to everything they do.
