I personally believe it to be a crock of shit,hence the morphing as follows:

new ice age
ozone layer depletion
acid rain
global warming
rebranded global warming ( oops) as climate change

we went from one extreme to the other in 40 years

On the surface it would seem that this is a giant hoax and fraud for what else;money. However the truth is industries and government are spending mega $$, we are talking bilions on reduction of carbon. For governments, ok, they are knobs who will spend on anything, but for major industries ( who look to save a penny around every corner) what is the motivation behind this? I do not believe for one minute it is to go green, they could give a hoot.

I think there may be more to the real story than they are telling us and this is what I am curious about.

Personally I believe that global warming is in fact happening and is (and will be) a threat in the future. But my specialty is physics, not atmospheric science. I do however know many people (and even a few close friends) that have asked me to peer review their work pertaining to global warming in the past, so I do know a good deal more than a lot of people do about it even if I'm not an expert. My personal belief is that the truth is being covered up because it is not convenient to entities. (such as oil companies) It is worth noting that people like Al Gore should stop riding around in his private jet if he is really concerned about what is going on. And in the 70's yes global cooling was being discussed, although since I was only a teenager then I don't remember much about it. (or cared probably lol) Final analysis though: it is a threat to our planet and must be dealt with. Maybe not to us as much (I'm in my 50's now) but to our children and grand children for sure. And for the love of God tell Al Gore to get out of his plane and practice what he preaches.

acid rain is real. Sulfur dioxide and nitric oxides from car exhaust make the rain acidic. If you didn't have catalytic converters, all the fish in the lakes would die, the forrest would die.

ozone layer depletion is a fact, these are real chemical reactions.

Cars, planes industry is burning up all the oxygen in the air, this is a fact. In the city, oxygen levels can be as much as 10% lower than out in the country. You can measure this yourself. It takes a few hours for oxygen to diffuse back into the city. this is of course because your cars consume a lot of oxygen when they burn gas.

even burning a candle in an air tight room will suffocate you after a few hours, a gallon of gas would consume a million times the oxygen of a candle.

My grandpa was right. He said we would be in a new ice age before I had grand kids.
