I'm the same way...it's all in the amount of pot you smoke just like the amount of alcohol you drink...

If I take about 3-4 hits I'm good, relaxed, laughing my ass off...any more than that and I'm fucking paranoid as hell and panicking...

That being said cannabis is not for everyone and some individuals do initially experience uncomfortable/unpleasant reactions and subsequently decide it's not for them. Nothing wrong with that IMHO. Don't partake if you decide that is so.

Smoke weak weed. Seriously. I had a friend who always got your basic mellow, normal weed, not great, not awful. I smoked with him for about a year and it was nice, we'd chill and play video games, I would zone out and feel a little tripped but I always knew what was going on and it actually made me focus a bit better.

Then my buddy's dad got some government quality insanely strong stuff. I figured I had built up a tolerance and so I took two big hits and held them both for ten seconds. I shit you not, I hit the floor. Barely could function for about three hours. Had cold waves running through the top of my scalp, my knees felt like they were burning. Everything people said repeated like five times, I couldn't remember who I was for a period of time, I ended up stripping of my shirt and running down the street on a frigid January evening, thinking maybe the cold would help. I blacked out and woke up on a couch, my friends had finally talked me into lying down, which I had zero recollection of. And before someone says it, the weed was not laced, the potheads there were all decade long habitual smokers and they just sat on the couch messed up.

Don't listen to people telling you it is you being sick, or that it was somehow your fault. It is not. The people that say that are the ones who have built up a tolerance and know what weed to smoke, as well. If you decide to smoke again, take a very small hit and see how it affects you before even attempting another one. I mean just a little puff and don't hold it. Tell your friends that you just want gauge how you feel, if they laugh oh well.

I understand exactly what you went through and yeah, it is terrible. I don't smoke anymore,or drink. I have found that a really good workout makes me feel better than any substance ever could.

There's so much propaganda surrounding marijuana which only lures more and more into it. It's basically the equivalent of how much propaganda they used in order to get everyone to smoke cigarettes. They're manipulating people into being obsessed and enamored with weed. "It's relaxing, it opens your mind, it gets rid of anxiety". BS. Do a google search of "marijuana panic attacks". People have had trips so terrifying that even the smell of marijuana can trigger memory of the bad trip which leads to another panic attack.

The rapidly racing heart rate feeling as though your heart is about to shoot out of your chest, loss of breath, dizziness, loss of coordination, and slow speech is hardly "amazing" or "relaxing". Anyway I'm glad I tried it so that now I know that all of that positive hippie propaganda surrounding it is BS. That stuff can be dangerous. There is nothing fun about feeling like you have no control over anything.

Yeah. If I had to choose between crazy drunk or crazy high, drunk wins every time. I have been hammered before on alcohol and I still know what is going on. When I was that high, it was like lost the ability to think. Maybe that is what most people enjoy about it, no clue.

this is true. my first couple of exp getting high turned me off because it freaked me out.

but what this AC says is true. once you mentally come to grips with your self and your own issues it become an enlightening drug.

Well if it's so "safe" then why does it cause anxiety in so many users?

The panic attack for me didn't even hit until about three minutes after I finished the last hit. It just "hit" me and all of a sudden my heart was speeding out of control and my hands were clammy. About thirty seconds after that everything began to sway back and forth as though I was on a boat. Then the depersonalization came. I felt like I was in a dream. The first twenty minutes were trippy and then afterwards things slowed down.

It shuts down your minds ability to analyze is a linear fashion. This makes you smarter and dumber. If you're anxious that part of your mind will panic in realizing that you're defenseless.

OP, you simply smoked too much. Next time, smoke less, make sure you're in a decent mood and watch something or listen to something that you find to be funny or interesting. Marijuana is a consciousness expanding substance. However, if you smoke too much and begin to overanalyze the way you're feeling, it's going to make you paranoid. Next time, take a much smaller dose and just relax, don't think negatively.
