Be careful not to add, "But, I don't care," or "Who gives a shit?" though. That would defeat the purpose. Quoting: Rev Woo-Woo And yes, it's annoying This. Seriously I think some guys just find it annoying every time a woman opens her mouth, even if she doesn't repeat herself. In my line of work the workplace is mostly male and it's nearly impossible for a women to speak two sentences without being interrupted. Add to this the fact that a man -- usually one or two -- dominate the meeting droning on and on and yes repeating themselves, and no one interrupts them even though we all want to! It's honestly quite weird but after observing this for about 30 years now I've concluded that there's something about a woman's voice that inherently irritates men and they just have to shut it up or they'll start screaming or something. Sorry guys. I love ya one to one, but to be a female in a group of men can be very unpleasant. |

My stepmother is one. She is in her early 60's and over the last 10-12 years she has repeats what she says, almost as if she's unsure she said it right. I know she's seen a psychologist and has abused pain meds over the years, so something is amiss. We don't talk about it. She did have an aneurism over 20 years ago, but for the longest time after, she never did that. We know our dad was verbally abusive to us and both mothers - but we all turned out well. It seems to be an underlining confidence issue. It's annoying as hell and very imbarrasing. She'll even do it while leaving voicemails. She'll say something (a sentence or two) and then repeat the how thing three or four times. It's not a stutter. What say you? |

They know that if they give women an opportunity to talk, then nothing will ever get accomplished. They have to put up with women because of affirmative action, but they want to minimize the damage that women are able to do by making sure they contribute as little as possible. |
