I believe they set a minimum depth of accumulated ash to consider it a direct ash fall. You got trace amounts from St. Helens, just a dusting of ash blown in by the wind, so they didn't include it.

That map only shows where the bulk of the ash landed, but it is a good starting point.

Jamaica would probably fare pretty well.

Know what? That it's not gonna blow? I don't. Simply opinion based on what I've read. Nothing substantiated though. I did read that the initial explosion would wipe out all human life within a 600 mile radius of Yellowstone. Will I be prepping here in Chicago? Probably not. I'm giving Yellowstone enough time for mankind to get their shit together and be able to control the environment with our positive thoughts as we raise our collective consciousness. We are more powerful than we think we are. (still opinion)

Once I got those things done, I would try to watch the jet stream. That would tell me how much ash to expect.

One last thingy, I do have a bio/chem (gas) mask...but I figure the ash would clog up the filter in short order...

So I'm thinking of wrapping the filter in about 5 pair of clean sox (a filter for the filter - if you will).

When volcanic ash mixes with the moisture in your lungs, it turns into cement.

And turn off any heat/AC or fire place...you don't want your house "breathing".

I am in Florida..so I think I survive eruption so once I hear of the event..hurry up and stock up on necessities and other barter items and lock and load as I would assume we may be inundated with fleeing survivors .
