I like OP's certainty. To be honest I've scoffed at the other things he listed, but I know this; that for many years I've heard people say that we have a big problem if Ebola ever hit a major urban area rather than remote villages in the arse end of nowhere Africa.

OP may want to consider the figures before he really bets money. In Nigeria officials are trying to trace around 30,000 people who may have been exposed to the guy who died after flying into Lagos. Even if just 1,000 of those people were infected, and if that rate of spread continued, then by now the virus is already all around us and we are just waiting for incubation to be over and severe symptoms to show. And all the time it is still spreading.

Just run the numbers. We are going to have to be extremely lucky for this one not to become a major problem.

Yea but the Ebola outbreak is already actually real. It's not some thing that may or may not happen, it's actually going on, the question is just when will it burn out and how many more will die?
