I disagree, it is war on the citizenry. It is unfortunate the officer was shot but it is well known officers are not chosen for their IQ's. Anonymous Coward User ID: 49252409 United States 07/30/2014 03:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | and the one-star bandit strikes again -- no respect for anything or anybody - makes me sick Quoting: Anonymous Coward 38610345 The Police Officer stood and faced his God which for all must come to past. He hoped his shoes were shining just as bright as his brass. "Step forward now officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?" The officer squared his shoulders and sighed. "No Lord, and I'll be straight Those who carry a badge can't always be a saint". I've had to work most Sunday's and I'm sorry I kept silent, And sometimes I've been a little tough because the streets are violent. But I never passed a cry for help just because I shook with fear And please, God forgive me, I've wept so many tears. I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear. If you've a place for me Lord, it needn't be so grand I never expected or had too much, so if you don't…I'll understand. There was a silence about the throne where the saints had often trod And the officer waited quietly for the judgement of his God. "Step forward now officer, you've borne your burdens well Come walk a beat on heaven's streets. You've done your time in hell." |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 42095573 United States 07/30/2014 03:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | People keep seeing stories on the news and the web where cops show up and just start abusing people, killing dogs, etc. Not even the elderly, sick, or disabled are immune. Sooner or later, even the average criminal will start to think that "it is either him or me". The end result will be that anyone confronted with an officer will assume they are going to be beaten or killed, that there is no longer any middle ground, and they will act accordingly. Most of these criminals are completely desensitized to violence and when combined with a nothing to lose mentality, everyone gets hurt. I feel for the cop's family. He was someone's dad or brother, son or uncle, husband or friend. Now the lives of everyone around the shooter and the cop are greatly damaged and the community is one step closer to hell. |
