I've checked the DTRA website ( www.dtra.mil ) but have been unable to find this report at that site.

According to Laibow, the declassified report indicates a way by which nanoparticle silver is effective against viruses.

Apparently nanosilver has an action against enzyme activity, including Cathepsin B and Cathepsin L, both of which are said to be involved in Ebola virus replication; and silver also "binds readily to thiol groups".

So, it appears, nanoparticle silver could essentially "stop the virus in its tracks" by inhibiting its ability to replicate.

HOWEVER - adding to the confusion, I went searching again, this time for "silver" and "cathepsin".

What turned up was an abstract of a study:

...which at the end gives thanks to the DTRA for funding it. This study basically concludes that nanoparticle silver could be UNHEALTHY, actually diminishing immune function because of its effect on Cathepsins. :) Unfortunately the study was not specifically about Ebola, so we can't tell from this finding of a diminishing effect on immune function whether researchers think it's a good thing to use anyway, in cases of Ebola.

That's about as far as I care to go with this particular search. If others turn up more related and useful information, please do let us know.

I find it interesting that the purportedly declassified document referenced on the sovereignsilver website cannot be found using multiple search engines.

However, you can find an "original" copy over at the silveredge.com - a copy that seems to be 'created' for marketing purposes.

What makes me say that? Well, all of the 'official' agency seals on the 'declassified' doc are drawn elements vs actual graphics that are commonly found in official documents from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Seriously, do you think DTRA would be inserting vector drawings into a doc, or using the quicker, easily available logo images?

I've spoofed graphics before (for comic reasons, not for profit), and if I didn't want to get in trouble with the copyright owner (or in this case Federal agency), I'd draw them and insert them... that way, they were my original art...

Just saying, I find it fishy that colloidal silver companies are the only place these 'documents' can be found... wanna buy some silver?

Saying this product is a cure to ebola will only embolden the FDA to remove products like this from the market. I think the problem with most people’s reluctance to use and make colloidal silver is that it is considered alternative medicine. It didn’t use to be an alternative. It used to be one of the primary infection-fighting weapons available to medical practitioners. Since then, we have improved the process of making colloidal silver using electrolysis, producing smaller particles, and making it even more effective. The advent of antibiotics and the profit potential of these antibiotics controlled by pharmaceutical companies pushed silver aside. The fact is that we are ending the age of antibiotics. The microbes are rapidly finding a way around antibiotics. That will inevitably lead to the existence of superbugs.
I went to the sovereign silver website, and it was very interesting. They would undoubtedly be one of the better sellers of bottles of colloidal silver. Their regular product is 10 PPM. They have what they call Argentyn 23, which I guess means 23 ppm. You have to be a practitioner and fill out an information form before giving you any more information about it.

Now, this post is not intended to disparage sovereign silver in any way. They at least make an honest 10 PPM product, ionic and clear. They sell a lot of it. Good for them. They get $293.99 for a gallon of it. Good for them again. Now I think Ironpig is making a gallon a day of the exact equivalent to this, and it costs him a $1.50. The ability to do this is available to anyone who wishes to do so.
What I’m wondering about is the following: if the price of this were lowered to say $30 a gallon, how many more people would buy it and use it? What if shipping was not a problem?. What if it was delivered locally? What if it was available at a local store and the store owner made it.?
Being an old guy, I can remember, as a child, a milkman delivering glass bottles of milk and picking up empty bottles to be taken back and refilled at the diary. This, as a paradigm, it is the antithesis of Amazon.
If a current user of colloidal silver was aware that a local person with a real name and a phone number was producing, with a valid process, 10 PPM EIS, would they not be inclined to buy it from that person, especially if he offered to deliver it to their door.

I started posting on this forum about what I have learned about making colloidal silver. I was greeted enthusiastically. The one-gallon jar that is supplied will be clean when you receive it. However, a good idea would be to fill it half full of distilled water. Replace the cap tightly and give it a good deal of motion so that any dust particles that may have entered will now be in the water.

Make sure that the toggle switch on the printed circuit board (generator) is in the fully upright position. The sliding potentiometer should be positioned all the way to the left. Insert the silver wires into the holes as shown.

Place the printed circuit board (generator) with the silver wires on to the jar. Make sure that none of the silver wires are touching any part of the jar where the water is present. The silver wires should be as far apart as possible.

Plug the Universal Power Supply into a standard AC outlet.
Once the power supply is plugged in, you will see the red LED lit to confirm that your generator is ON.

Plug the test leads into the Multimeter at the two lower sockets on the meter. The top socket is not used. It is only there for measuring very high amperage.

Put the two test leads into the two outer test points on the generator as shown. The meter should read zero volts.

Position the sliding potentiometer all the way to the left. This will give you the lowest current. As shown in the picture, our digital meter reads 163 microamps. Please note that the reading will vary depending on the quality of your distilled water. Positioning the sliding potentiometer all the way to the left will take longer to make colloidal silver but will give a much better result. This reading will increase slightly as time goes by. It will just take longer to get a good red laser beam but you will end up with a higher PPM and more stable colloidal silver.

Positioning the sliding potentiometer all the way to the right will give you the highest current. As you can see in the picture, our digital meter reads 917 microamps. Please note that the reading will vary depending on the quality of your distilled water.

The position of the toggle switch points to the set of wires that will be the anode. By moving the toggle switch all the way to the left, the silver wires that were the anode will now serve as the cathode. You can set up your current the way you want. For these instructions, we will set our sliding potentiometer to the middle, keep the toggle switch all the way to the right, and set our current to 263 microamps. And we will continue the process.

We now use our red laser pointer supplied with the kit and check to see that we have made a sufficient quantity of actual silver particles by seeing the red beam across the jar n dim room light. The first picture was taken in a bright room and the second picture was taken in a dark room.

The red laser beam indicates that we have made particulate silver as well as ionic. As you can see by this picture, we have a nice strong red beam even in normal indoor room light. The water itself is still crystal clear. This means that we have avoided making overly large particles.
In the days before good laser pointers were available; the only way we had to ensure that we had made larger particles was for the water to turn yellow. You will find many people who, because of this, still believe that Colloidal Silver should be yellow in color. The fact is that a yellow color Colloidal Silver indicates particles in excess of 40 nanometers in size. Clear color means smaller particles. Small particles are better. Please note that if you have any kind of equipment to check your PPM, make sure that the toggle switch is in the fully UPRIGHT position before doing so.

n this picture we have submerged the probe of our Amber Electronic Conductivity Meter to measure the value of conductivity in Microsiemens. (Please note that our toggle switch is in UPRIGHT position). This is the same value for the PPM (parts per million) of the ionic part of our colloidal silver. As you can see in our picture, our PPM reads 16.2.
We are now finished with the process of making our one-gallon of colloidal silver. Unplug the universal power supply, remove the generator from the jar and clean the silver wires with the supplied scrubbing pad. Two or three swipes should suffice.
