METHANE DOOM IS HERE!! ** We are in the worse case scenario! **

Forget Ebola, forget WWW3, forget Fukushima. THIS NEWS MAKES ME SCARED TO DEATH! WE ARE SO F*CKED!

Remember those huge craters they found in Siberia a couple of weeks ago?

Well, as a lot of us here on GLP suspected, it was Methane. NOT explosions ... BURPS! Huge 200 ft diameter BLOWOUTS! The permafrost in Siberia is melting, and as predicted, HUGE amounts of methane is being released into the atmosphere. Here's the article from yesterday (Aug 1st): [link to phys.org]

Why is that bad, you ask? Because atmospheric methane is a much bigger problem than carbon dioxide, since methane is ~20 times more powerful as a greenhouse gas.

But, wait, it's even WORSE!

On July 22, 2014 scientists discovered vast methane plumes escaping from Arctic seafloor. An team of scientists aboard the icebreaker Oden – currently north of eastern Siberia – is working primarily to measure methane emissions from the Arctic seafloor. Only a week into their voyage, the team reported “elevated methane levels, about 10 times higher than background seawater.” - 10 TIMES!

I know a lot of you are Climate Change nay-sayers, because you don't want to admit humans were the cause. Fine. Who the f*ck cares, because it doesn't matter anymore. We've got METHANE, people, and megatons of it, being gushed into the atmosphere.
