cold weather and ebola
Does anyone know if cold weather will inhibit ebolas spread? I know that flu spreads easier in cool weather, but things like yellow fever die off. Anyone know?

Okay, the closest I can find is infectious at 39 degrees Fahrenheit. Nothing aside from that. It will be interesting to find out if it can still spread here in the US when it is snowing.

There are too many threads for me to point you in the right direction, but I read somewhere that it lives indefinitely at temps of -4.. I do not know if that was F or C, or what..

Maybe you would be better off asking this question in a longer thread, with more viewers, and more people to seek answers.

I don't know about temperatures having a affect on the disease but people congregated in stores is, malls ans such. The handling of money credit cards should also be a concern.

Virus do better in a cold dry conditions, and the cold will force people indoors were they have more contact with each other.
In short it will spread faster in winter.hiding

Re: cold weather and ebola
Flu virus spreads faster in cold months due to lack of adequate sunlight (Vitamin D3).

Re: cold weather and ebola
Don't worry ebola is from a arid humid area the only way it will do well in cool/cold areas is if it gets on a new genetic strands which can take a couple years to a couple hundred years so I think we will be fine and even now with united states temperature average dropping 8-9 degree F and ebola having trouble spreading mainly we really don't have anything to worry about but the disease wont die it will just have trouble spreading, BUT if you get the cold you might be more in risk because it seems as if ebola spreads to more unhealthy body's. and cold weather always slows down diseases and their affects. But it dosent mean you shouldnt be scared there has been reported that two people in my county are on the watchlist for ebola because they where on the same plane as that lady so yeah wish me luck, also if your wondering where I got my info from, my friends cousin is a part of a journalist group in africa and he is from the CDC and he study bacteria for a living so imma take his word for it. 5a
