Toledo water crisis FEMA drill?
I've been thinking about the whole water crisis that Toledo has been having. I think it might have just been a drill.

1. Crisis declared after working hours on Friday.
2. No data release, just vague statements about numbers being "above acceptable limits."
3. No increase in EMS runs or hospital admissions.
4. Crisis declared over at the start of the work day Monday.

I think this might have been done to minimize the economic impacts, but see what happens with a water emergency with a larger (not huge) city.

What are your thoughts?

Why does Absolute Nowhere North Carolina have this "advanced water treatment system" that Toledo lacks?

UNC Wilmington Biology Professor Larry Cahoon was alerted of a bloom of microcystis, the same blue-green algae that polluted Toledo's water supply, north of the Lock and Dam #1 on the Cape Fear River.

Both New Hanover and northern Brunswick Counties have water intake systems in the affected area, but CFPUA spokesperson Mike McGill said their water supply is not at risk because of their advanced water treatment system.

"We have an advanced filtration system that includes o-zone and biologically active carbon filters that actually kill the algae, and remove it from our system," McGill explained.
