Whack Attack User ID: 55400348 United States 08/06/2014 02:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good job Utah counties. BLM land is nothing scenic, the Forest Service gets that land. The BLM just acquires the land, clears it of all grazing livestock (the fucked up helicopter horse roundups), then leases the grazing and mineral rights for a high price. The whole organization is an unnecessary middle man, a very inefficient one at that just as all federal organizations. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4707525 United States 08/06/2014 02:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | BLM destroyed 3 million acres of productive pinyon pine nut producing forests for grazing. Turns out the cattle couldn't graze there, and the cattle business was less profitable than the pine nut industry. Now those pines are gone and it takes a good 100 to 150 years for pinyon pine to mature |
