'Supermoon,' Meteor Shower Both Will Light Up Sky Sunday

Completely overcast skies.

I have been denied my howling moon and meteors.

Not one from here...must be light pollution.

I'm with ya. If it isn't raining (like now) its still to cloudy to see anything.

It's peak is the evening of thd 11th-12th. Check ams, premature on the bolides.

Don't feel sad wolfie I saw the moon, was very bright and slightly hazy. But besides something that looked like a ton of debris burning up in our atmosphere [link to www.picshare.ru] I saw not a single shooting star. This is the second time things are hyped up, and then we get absolutely nothing. Who's eating up all of our meteors?

Too bright!

I got up middle of the night and saw it was unusually bright then looked at the window. The Moon was incredibly bright and there was no clouds. Haven't seen it bright like this in a while.

Since 2012 I have a sneaky suspicion that people are being fucked with, maybe just for the fun of it, on a massive scale.

Imagine some people with power to influence the reported news.
Now imagine those people betting on events that they have the power to influence. There is opposition to make things difficult and the pot bigger. They are responsible for everything from wars to the education of your children.

Now imagine these same people sometimes are just having a laugh at our expense.

There is an endless parade of these events that make people look like loons in the end, and some of them can be backed up with "credible" sources.
Like the Mayans, Missing airplanes, disclosure, etc., and all these other things that are on the brink of happening, but fizzle in the end.

Like telling everyone to go outside and look for meteors on the brightest full moon night in years. HA! Good one!

Brightest night sky here in the midwest I have seen in a long time. Moon was great, but you couldn't even see the stars! Picked the wrong night to try to watch for a meteor shower !

No meteors, but the smoke in the air from the wildfires turned the moon blood red when it was still low in the sky. Awesome.

I checked the time stamp and is 22:21, so the moon was up in the sky by that time

I got what you mean.
Newtonian scopes have their views backwards.
I used Photoshop to flip and edit the image slightly.
That's the reason the time on the imgur file is different.

My mistake, I was fooled by the orientation, assuming alt-az. What equipment are you using?

The moon was pretty, but all I was that. Nothing else. :(
